Dubai Municipality has defined a package of precautionary measures that must be adhered to during the reopening of malls, with the aim of achieving the greatest degree of prevention from the emerging corona virus, and limiting its spread. The Pointe mall is also steps up for prevention of Corona virus in Dubai to secure health of its customers, employees and everyone.
Safety measures
As per Dubai municipality orders, The pointe mall have different doors for the entrances and exits, taking into account not less than 50% of the entry and exit doors open. The mall is also increasing the periodicals for cleaning and disinfection throughout the period of reoccupying the shopping center and focusing on “an area Inquiries, toilets, elevator buttons, escalator handles, doors and ladders, shopping carts, shop items and kiosks including gold and jewelry.
The mall documented all cleaning and disinfection operations in the cleaning records with the mention of the materials used, to carry out a comprehensive cleaning and disinfection process in the shopping center after daily working hours. The hand sanitizers are placed in all essential areas inside the mall and it is mandatory for the customers and employees to wear masks and gloves when entering the mall.
Social distancing at mall
As per Dubai municipality’s requirements, the necessary instructions are given to maintain the occupancy rate of 30% to prevent corona virus in UAE. The mall also has necessary guidelines to apply maintaining this percentage in all locations. It is also required to keep safe distances for physical spacing meters (except for members of one family), and use of elevators is permitted only by while maintaining the physical distance 2 meters, and all the stores in malls hanged a red sign at the front door indicating the maximum number of customers allowed inside.
No touch payments
The procedures included the necessity of determining the location of the isolation in the mall for use in emergencies or the presence of confirmed cases of injury. The mall educated its employees on the importance of maintaining health and safety and hygiene, and encouraging payment via smart payment channels, and sterilization of hands before and after dealing with credit card machines. All restaurants in The Pointe mall are instructed to provide no touch delivery services in Dubai. All Daily working procedures are in the records, including closing procedures for dressing rooms and prayer rooms, and commitment to working hours specified for the operation of a mall from 12 noon to 10 pm, and is not permitted with children (3-12 years) or persons over 60 years, from entering to mall to assured their safety.
Entertainment areas are closed
As per the Dubai municipality orders, all tourist and recreational areas in The Pointe mall are closed, including cinema hall, sports halls, health clubs, fitness and massage centers, and other entertainment areas. Private and public event contracts are prohibited. In addition, the car parking service is not allowed temporarily and only 25% of the capacity of the caravan with a parking space is being used. It is also prohibited to test personal care products, public sitting places are removed and adhering to food safety generalizations for food hygiene all safety measures are taken while preparing foods in restaurants of mall.
