The whole world seems to be caught up in the days of Corona – schools and daycare centers are closed, home office is becoming the word of the hour and a visit to malls, major events, and parties in the city is no longer an option. So that you don’t flip the covers on your head at home, we provide you with some activities to do at home quarantine and release the stress.
Take a look…
Build a pillow castle-
Probably the smartest start to quarantine: build a castle out of lots of pillows and blankets, ideally with the best view of the television at home. So the coming days can be endured very well – especially with children, but also in “romantic mode” with the partner, or if necessary also while doing work from home.
If you want to go one-step further, you can also build tunnels into the kitchen and bedroom. The everyday route from the living room to the rest of the booth becomes an adventure.
Crafts with toilet paper rolls
Now that each of you has stashed at least 100 rolls of toilet paper in the basement, the question is, of course, what to do with all that stuff? Luckily, the fine art of toilet paper roll handicraft has been passed down through generations of annoyed kindergarten mothers – and dads, been refined more and more and creatively spun on.
So, have a look at Pinterest or dive into Google search. Literally over a million results can keep you happy for the next few days and weeks.
The long-forgotten form of communication: phone calls
In a time when everyone only communicates via typed three-word sentences and smileys on Whatsapp, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, a longer phone call can work wonders: especially when you call surprisingly old friends, who are themselves turn your thumb at home and count colorful dots on the wallpaper.
Seriously: Just pick up the phone and call someone you haven’t talked to for at least a year. So you cannot only pass the time while stay at home, you also feel great afterwards!
Cooking or baking together
Admittedly, if you run out of food, you might want to hold back a bit at the extensive meal at home. However, as occupational therapy for the whole family, there is actually nothing better than cooking together – or alternatively, baking sweet corona cookies. This is one of the best healthy things to do at home.
Pick up a good book
The quickest way to get around in quarantine: take a good book, hit the couch or Grandma’s old armchair, alternatively also in the deck chair in the garden or on the picnic blanket – and off you go!
Binge what the stuff holds
Home office time is binge watch time! Probably the one, who can also talk to typical “brain from” series such as the Big Bang Theory and Co. while working on the PC.
Gardening
Treat yourself and your family to a break and make yourself comfortable in your garden! We just hope that you have a garden – otherwise, if necessary, you can also endure on the balcony, as long as you finally clear away all the old stuff and set it up comfortably!
And for all poor souls who have no garden or balcony at their disposal: check back with our first tip! 😉
